Anyone Can Publish, and That Means You!

In 2024, opportunities to publish your writing are more abundant than ever. Whether you craft short stories, poems, creative nonfiction (CNF), essays, comics, or illustrated/animated works, countless platforms online are eager for new voices. Hosted by Professor of English at Purdue Global James McAdams, this workshop will explore:

  1. How to find calls for submissions (and what that means)

  2. Best practices for professionally formatting a submission

  3. Writing effective cover letters and query letters

  4. The pros and cons of self-publishing

  5. Tips to become a better writer—spoiler: the key is to write every day, no matter how rough it is! Even "bad" writing is infinitely better than no writing at all.
